Birdwatching walk

11-10-2026, 6:30 – 8:30
Brzegi k. Krakowa
Limit of 25 people

The former gravel pits at Brzegi are one of those places that don't look like much at first glance — yet they can surprise you. Technically it's no longer Kraków, but getting there is easy: MPK city buses run there, and you can also take the train, so not having a car is no obstacle.

October is a good time to watch duck migration — I'm hoping for mallards, garganeys, wigeons, maybe also pochards and tufted ducks. Great crested grebes should appear on the water, and with a bit of luck something rarer might stick around for a while — I can't promise, but these pits like to surprise. Over the meadows it's worth looking up: this is the season when buzzards pass through, sometimes harriers, and lower down, pipits and larks foraging before continuing their journey south.

For those who like to sleep in a bit longer on Sunday, we've also prepared a second time slot at 9:30
